Industrial Rehabilitation

Just as every sport has different physical demands, every job has its own unique set of requirements. Our Industrial Rehabilitation program offers treatment for and prevention of work-related injuries that are specifically tailored to the job’s demands.

Our multidisciplinary team includes physical therapists, occupational therapists and athletic trainers. Our staff has experience in ergonomic adaptation, cumulative trauma disorder treatment and prevention, and Functional Capacity Evaluations. Our program goals focus on preventing injuries before they occur and maximizing employee efficiency.

Acute Injured Worker Rehabilitation

Our Industrial Rehabilitation is designed to help injured workers identify work capacities, regain functional skills, and return to work safely after an injury.

  • Early return to work recommendations on appropriate lifting and activity levels
  • Client education on self-management and protection techniques
  • Immediate notification of missed or late visits to all referring entities
  • Consistent communication on function and barriers to progress

Functional Capacity Evaluations

A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is an intensive short-term (usually one day) evaluation that focuses on the major physical tolerance abilities related to musculoskeletal strength, endurance, speed and flexibility. These evaluations help to determine a worker’s ability to safely function in a work environment. Functional Capacity Evaluations assess an individual’s capacity to perform work tasks (such as lifting, carrying, typing, kneeling and squatting) in addition to flexibility and strength thereby reducing risk of re-injury and facilitating a safe return to work.

  • Baseline evaluation to address full range of physical tolerances
  • Job-specific evaluation to address injured worker’s ability to return to work
  • Matheson System utilized

Impairment Ratings

An Impairment Rating is an evaluation based on the “Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment” (5th or 6th edition), which uses acceptable medical standards to determine the severity of human impairment due to illness or injury. This evaluation lasts approximately 1 hour.

Post Offer/Pre-Placement Screening

Job specific testing performed to assess a candidate’s ability to safely perform the requirements of the position for which the employee was hired. The physical and functional test is designed to identify physical restrictions, which may impair the worker’s ability to perform the job safely.
